How much personal care assistance does a resident receive from Reflections at The Arbors?
Residents receive individual personal assistance and/or cuing according to their own needs. Our staff acquires a detailed knowledge of each resident - what they did for a living, what their interests and hobbies are as well as their family situations. We encourage participation that promotes self-esteem and contentment. Group and individual activities are scheduled and can include exercise and walking, crafts, music appreciation, poetry groups, cooking, games and much more. Residents choose what they would like to participate in and when.
What about medication monitoring?
Residents are provided reminders to ensure that they take their medication.
When do residents need to move from Reflections at The Arbors?
A move is indicated when there is a need for ongoing nursing assistance. This occurs when residents become non-ambulatory, are unable to
participate in any part of their care program, or exhibit
uncontrollable aggressive behavior that compromises the group or endangers themselves.
What help do families receive regarding a move?
Our elder care staff gives families an ongoing report of the resident’s status. As changes occur, families will be encouraged to begin looking for alternative programs. Reflections at The Arbors is part of an extensive network which offers a full range of quality elder care and will work closely with families to assure a smooth transition.
What is the difference between Assisted Living and Reflections at The Arbors?
Reflections at The Arbors includes all the basics of an Assisted Living environment but has added specialized facilities, training, resident assessment and programming designed to meet the changing needs of residents with progressive memory loss.
What are residency criteria?
Residents must have a diagnosis of irreversible dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. They must be ambulatory and able to
participate in some activities and personal care. Personal care or assistance is provided according to each individual’s needs.
How is the staff selected and trained?
Our elder care staff must have a genuine concern for and interest in serving the needs of older adults. In addition to the extensive training required for Assisted Living, Reflections staff receives additional
specialized training to enable them to work effectively with Alzheimer's residents.
Is the training recognized by the Alzheimer’s Association?
Yes. In fact, parts of the training program were developed by the Alzheimer’s Association. Training sessions are conducted by experienced professionals who have dedicated their careers to caring for people with Alzheimer’s and related dementia. Ongoing in-service training is provided for our staff.
